She Waits for Rain





She Waits for Rain- An installation and 2 hour performance in an abandoned adobe house. The floor is covered with opportunistic water plants gathered from a nearby reservoir where they were clogging the irrigation channels. The plants were used the following day to build raised compost beds for a kitchen garden. Air Plants (Tillandsia), a ladder, found cages/lanterns, blindfold, pail and water. Assisted by Daniel Cristobal & Lorena Endara.

An urban food production experiment with logs inoculated with Shiitake spawn. The drawing is a design for a pulley system for growing mushrooms in un-accessed urban space - lofts, ceilings, alleyways, etc.

High Canopy Bat Pollination Study

I was a research assistant for a high canopy bat pollination study in French Guiana. This video was shot about 100 feet off the ground in a tree that we were setting up an experiment in. We were approached by a clan of Howler Monkeys and this young adolescent was quite curious. He eventually retreated because an adult was calling him back to the group which was in a neighboring tree.
